A delicious take on the classic. I had to play detective to get the actual recipe, but I found it. Jeffrey Morgenthaler - Pepe Le Moko. Portland, Oregon

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz. Green Crème de Menthe
  • 1.5 oz. White Crème de Cacao
  • 4 oz. Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 oz. Half and Half
  • 1 tsp. Fernet-Branca
  • Pinch of Sea Salt
  • 8 Ice Cubes
  • Mint Garnish
Preparation:

Add all ingredients - except for mint - into blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into a chilled Collins glass. garnish with mint.

    Just saw this on Esquire Network's new show called Best Bars in America (it was their Portland, OR edition). It looked great on the show, and seeing the recipe posted here pushed me over the edge to try it. This drink is fantastic!

    yeah! when I was looking for the recipe I came across that online. the dude is cool as hell and his book "the bar book" is top notch, as is this drink.

    If you crush the ice prior to blending it will help create the smooth consistency we wanted. You can blend it first, drain the water, and add ingredients. Also we kept pre-batched store'n'pours in the freezer to get all the ingredients cold as hell. 1 tsp Branca Menta ⛄️
