I created this cocktail for use at Blackberry Farm, a Relais & Chateaux resort located in Walland, TN. You know the Rye Whiskey is there but you also get that fresh pear taste. Very balanced cocktail.
1.5 oz. Rittenhouse 100 proof Rye Whiskey
.75 oz. St. Germain
.25 oz. Simple Syrup (2:1 ratio)
2 fresh pear wheels quartered
2 dashes of Bitter Truth Lemon Bitters
In a mixing tin with ice add everything except the soda water. Shake hard to break up the pear and make it very cold. Julep strain into an ice filled rocks glass. Top with soda water, stir to mix and garnish with a fresh pear slice.
