A spicy, spirituous, mysterious, dangerously drinkable tropical drink in the style of Don the Beachcomber, Jamaican themed with funky rums and pungent spice, named for the Jamaican home port of privateers and other rogues and scoundrels during the golden age of piracy. Rafa García Febles, NYC, 2013.
1 oz Wray & Nephew White Overproof rum
1 oz dark Jamaican rum (such as Coruba or Meyer's, or a blend like Plantation Overproof)
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz grapefruit juice
1/2 oz orange juice
1/2 oz pineapple juice
1/4 oz allspice dram
1/4 oz falernum
1/4 oz ginger juice or syrup
1/4 oz honey syrup
1/2 teaspoon of Amaro Abano (or two dashes of Angostura or other spicy bitters)
4 oz crushed ice
Blend for five seconds, or shake with the strength of an ox. Pour unstrained into something tall and tacky. Garnish extravagantly.
