A @demonbitters original. I started my thought process this evening with Dick Bradsell's modern classic, the Bramble, a 4:2:1 gin:lemon:sugar mix poured over crushed ice with Creme de Mûre dramatically drizzled over. A delicious and beautiful drink. The first change (enforced due to lack of lemons) was to replace the lemon and sugar with citrus shrub. Now I have changed all the other elements. White rum coming in for the gin and Creme Yvette for the Mûre. This works really, really well. Unless you hate violet.

  • 2 1/2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz citrus shrub
  • 2 barspoons Creme de Violette

Shake first two ingredients and strain into a crushed ice filled rocks glass. Pour Creme de Violette over the top.
