I was looking for a sloe gin recipe online and found several recipes for this drink but nothing about its origin. Perhaps I need to be a member of an ancient order to learn that. The only variation I found was that some suggested shaken while others stirred. I say stir it well with plenty of ice but do as you feel you must.
1 1/2 oz Sloe Gin
1 1/2 oz Brandy
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1/2 teaspoon simple syrup
Stir well with plenty of cracked ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
