This is my first drink in 2 weeks. I guess I caught some kind of bug which kept me congested and prevented me from being able to taste. cheers to being healthy and being able to enjoy what you love!
2 oz. Averna Amaro
1 oz. Cognac
.5 oz. Lemon
.25 oz. Ginger Syrup
3 Dash Angostura
add all to mixing tin. dry shake - ice - shake. double strain into coupe. drop a triangle of bitters, take 2 straws and make a circle or whatever design you prefer.
Ginger syrup: Cut 1 fresh (large) ginger root into half inch pieces. fill saucepan with 2 cups water and 1 cup sugar - stir frequently and bring to boil. Add ginger and let sit for 10 mins on heat. Take off burner and let sit (covered) over night. You can also add 6 mint leaves and a fat orange peel if you're into that.
