Smokin' Hot Apple Toddy
Saved by 10 People
About this Cocktail

My twist on a classic hot toddy using apple as the base flavour with smoke from a heavily peated whisky.

  • 45ml Lairds Applejack
  • 10ml Bruichladdich Octomore 'The Beast'
  • 1 teaspoon runny honey
  • 2 cloves
  • Half a cinnamon stick
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 1 lemon slice
  • 3 dashes of Dr Adam Elmigirabs Dandelion & Burdock bitters
  • 2 apple slices
  • Hot water
  • Lemon twist

Place first eight ingredients into the glass plus one of the apple slices. Another heavily peated scotch (lagavulin, laphroig etc) could be used in place of the Octomore as it is hard to come by.
Top with water just off boiling temperature.
Stir to dissolve honey and allow to brew for a while.
Express lemon zest over drink and drop in.
Garnish with remaining apple slice.
