Sorghum Old-fashioned
Saved by 1 Person
About this Cocktail

This is just a basic old-fashioned, but using a sorghum whiskey I tried for the first time this past week.

Sorghum whiskey is almost more like a rum, but since it's not made from sugar cane it can't be classified as such. If I had to describe this sorghum whiskey by Still 630 distillery (St. Louis, MO), I'd say it reminds me of a cross between rum and bourbon... Sweet but not as sugary as rum.

Ingredients:
  • 2oz Still 630 "S.S. Sorghum" whiskey
  • 1/2oz water
  • A few dashes of simple syrup
  • A couple of dashes of Angostura bitters
Preparation:

Stir with ice, then strain over a big ice cube. Garnish with a lemon twist.
