About this Cocktail

A sweet, velvety version of the classic bourbon julep. After a nice vacation in the Smoky Mountains I came home with a bottle of Davy Crocketts Southern Pecan Whiskey to experiment with, and this was the first manifestation.

  • 1 part Davy Crockett's Southern Pecan Whiskey
  • 0.25 part Mint Simple Syrup*
  • Sprig of fresh mint

In a mixer, stir or shake first two ingredients with plenty of ice. Strain into glass over crushed ice. Garnish with mint sprig.

*Mint simple syrup made by mixing 1 part water with 1 part refined sugar and 2 parts fresh mint leaves in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Strain into a container, let cool and store in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
