Spiced Rum Toddy
Saved by 4 People
About this Cocktail

Was looking for the right drink to prep for our holiday party at Launch Pad and this fit the bill. The rum syrup is easy and makes the final product a little more interesting than your standard toddy.

Credit for the recipe goes to Chris Milligan of Secreto Lounge in Santa Fe, NM.

  • 1 1/2 oz. Sailor Jerry spiced rum
  • 1/2 oz. rum syrup (see below)
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 4 oz. hot water

Combine all ingredients in a warmed irish coffee mug (or an eco friendly paper cup in the office party context), stir and garnish with an orange peel.

For the Rum Syrup:

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup demerara sugar, 6 oz. spiced rum, 1 oz. fresh orange juice, 1 oz. orange bitters, and heat over medium-low heat until dissolved. Cool to room temperature and strain into a clean glass bottle.
Syrup can be kept refrigerated for up to two months.
