On the spring 2015 menu for Old Hickory Whiskey Bar. I wanted to make a lighter scotch cocktail for fall and I wanted to incorporate blood orange juice. I found shaking it lost all the flavor of the blood orange so I decided to go against the norm and stir it.
1.5 ounce Great King Street Artist's Blend
.5 ounce Bols Sloe Gin
.5 ounce fresh blood orange juice
2 dashes Angostura orange bitters
Add all ingredients to mixing glass, stir and strain into chilled coup. Garnish with orange zest.
