I found extremely floral Thai basil today in the organic farmers market. I knew it had to be used in a drink because of its sweeter tone that normal basil which has a darker spicier aroma. This drink highlights the aroma as well a balancing it with a firm gin.
2 oz Bombay sapphire
6 Thai basil leaves
1 oz st germain elderflower liqueur
Juice of half lemon
.5 oz solerno blood orange liqueur
Muddle basil in the lemon juice. Pour in ice and fill with other liquids. Shake for 10-15 times. Strain into martini glad an garnish with a blossoming Thai basil sprig top.
