As an ardent traditionalist I was very wary of California gins when they first started showing up back east a few years ago. Then a St. George Terroir martini changed my mind forever!
Picked up another California gin, Future Gin, today and loving it so far! It’s unique, with very strong hints of lemon and avocado where you might expect juniper instead for a ‘dry gin’. Brought me back to time in the valley as a kid, and tried to pull something together here to celebrate SFV in all it’s splendor...
2 oz. Future Gin
.75 oz. sparkling lemonade
.5 oz. Cointreau
.5 oz. fresh lemon juice
Splash of Suze
Build a rocks glass with a ground sugar rim, chill glass before serving. Add all but the lemonade to a shaker and shake over ice and strain. Top with the .75 oz. sparkling lemonade. Lemon wheel garnish.
