I created this cocktail for use at Blackberry Farm, a Relais & Chateaux resort located in Walland, TN. This was one of twelve holiday cocktail created this year (2013). An easy way to enjoy drinking bourbon to stay warm and refreshed this winter.
1.5 oz Belle Meade Bourbon Whiskey
.25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz Apple Cider Syrup*
10 Drops of Bittermens Tiki Bitters
3 Dashes of Fee Bros. Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters
1 Dehydrated Apple Slice
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add everything except the dehydrated apple slice. Shake until very cold. Fine strain the liquid into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a dehydrated apple slice.
*Apple Cider Syrup recipe: In a pot, add 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 cup of apple cider and 3-5 cinnamon sticks. Place on the stove on a low heat. Stir occasionally to help the sugar dissolve. Once it begins to boil, remove and fine strain into a container of choice and let it come to room temperature. Then, place it in a vessel of choice and keep refrigerated.
