About this Cocktail

Inspired by drinks on the patio a few weeks ago with some good friends.

I like the contrast of lemon and black pepper, but squeezing a lime wedge over the top works very well too.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz reposado tequila
  • 1/4 oz black pepper simple syrup
  • 3 dashes cinnamon cocoa bitters
  • Lemon peel
Preparation:

Build in an old fashioned glass with a big cube. Let rest for a couple minutes and express a nice fat slice of lemon peel over the top and drop it in.

The syrup is 1/2 cup coarse ground black pepper, 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar simmered for 5 min, rest until cool and then strained.

The bitters are home made, somewhere between Fee Bro's Whisky Barrel Aged and Bittermen's Xocolatl Mole.
