My twist on the East India Cocktail. Named after one of the ships which was raided during the Boston Tea Party, this drink includes a measure of East India Company's 'Boston Tea Party' blend. So there's a huge history aspect to this cocktail, not going to go through the whole thing here though!
I've also replaced the cognac and orange curaçao with Grand Marnier after having recently attended a GM master class (did you know the oranges used to flavour the cognac in GM are from the Caribbean!?)
2 oz Grand Marnier
1 oz Boston Tea Party Fine Black Tea
1 Bar spoon Luxardo Maraschino
1 Dash Angostura Bitters
Combine all liquids (be sure to strain tea leaves out) into mixing glass and stir. Strain into a coupe glass. Flame one orange peel over drink and discard. Garnish with an orange 'sail'.
A fairly rich drink and an original take on a classic. All ingredients not only blend well with one another but are separately distinguishable.
