A birthday tipple in honor of Ryan Hoover of Product Hunt.
Based on the Cucumber Gimlet from Bourbon & Branch in SF, which has been a favorite there for years.
1.75 oz. Cucumber-infused vodka
.75 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1⁄4 oz. St. Germain
Barspoon of simple syrup
Dash Bittermen's Orange Citrate
Float of Champagne
Combine all ingredients except champagne into a cocktail shaker over ice. Cover and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and top off with champagne.
For the Cucumber Vodka:
Combine 1 peeled & seeded cucumber, the zest from 1 lemon (or orange), and 1 750ml bottle of decent vodka in sterile glass jar. Let it stand for a minimum of 48 hours and then strain and enjoy.
