Verses of the Abstract

About this Cocktail

Kumquats are in season and I found the green dry tasting notes of the parsley played well with a dry gin balanced by a sweet mouthwatering white wine. I also wanted to add another curve ball thinking of a classic sazerac with adding peychaud's bitters and absinth. As I was playing in my kitchen with the ratios a song by A Tribe Called Quest named Verses of the Abstract popped up on the radio. This song has been by far one of my top 5 hip hop songs. I finished this cocktail with a smile and a cheers to being abstract.

  • 1.50 oz London Dry Gin
  • 1oz Muscadet Wine or a Tart, Sweet White Wine
  • .50 Galliano
  • 2 kumquats
  • Handful of Flat Parsley
  • 3 dashes of Peychaud's Bitters
  • Absinth Rinse

Muddle kumquats, lightly muddle the parsley, add all other ingredients. Shake, double strain, serve up in absinth rinsed glass, parsley leaf as garnish.
