About this Cocktail

A classic cocktail straight from New Orleans. It was Walter Bergeron who created this cocktail at the Hotel Monteleone in the 1930's, naming it after the French meaning "old square" which referred to the French Quarter.

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 oz Rye Whiskey
  • 3/4 oz Brandy
  • 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 bar spoon Benedictine
  • 2 dashes Peychaud Bitters
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Preparation:

Build over ice in old fashioned glass
Garnish w a lemon peel
