White Negroni

About this Cocktail

Originally concocted for me by Justin of East Side Show Room in Austin TX, the White Negroni is a superb Negroni variation.

The key element is substituting Suze for Campari. In addition, a dry (or blanc) vermouth is used instead of the sweet vermouth.

I tried the White Negroni with the five gins in the picture; the Terroir and the Bluecoat we're clear stand-outs for this drink. Death's Door and Martin Miller's left some unwanted floral/fruity notes in the drink. Broker's was a solid choice, since it balanced well with the Suze and vermouth, however it didn't add to the drink like Bluecoat and Terroir did. What gins worked for you?

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz gin
  • 1 oz Suze
  • 1 oz dry (or blanc) vermouth
Preparation:

Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Serve ungarnished.
