Started out cooking down cranberries to make winter drinks, next thing I know it's 80 degrees out and there's something like a tiki party going on in my back yard. I cut down the sugar in the cranberry simple syrup so I could add more of it.
1 oz Smith & Cross Plantation Rum
1 oz Angostura 5 year rum
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz light cranberry simple
barspoon demerara simple
barspoon cinnamon simple
barspoon Luxardo maraschino
Shake it, pour it on the rocks, garnish with mint and fruit and whatever else suits you.
[cranberry simple: 1.5 cups rinsed cranberries, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar. Combine, bring to a boil, reduce and simmer for 15. Strain, bottle, add 1/2 oz Everclear.]
[cinnamon simple: 1 cup water, 2 sticks cinnamon. Bring to boil, reduce, simmer for 10. Remove cinnamon, add 3/4 cup demerara, bottle, add 1/2 oz Everclear.]
