About this Cocktail

Refreshing drink with citrus & rye. Still perfecting, love feedback

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz Canadian Club (or other Rye)
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice (~half a lemon)
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Dashes of orange or chocolate bitters
Preparation:

Add all ingredients into a Boston shaker, fill with ice, cap, shake vigorously for ~10 sec (want tiny ice flakes but not melted into water), strain into 6oz cocktail glass, garnish with lemon peel spiral (not in pic).

Tips:
- use a channel knife to cut the spiral first, then cut & squeeze the lemon unless you are making a ton and will always have another lemon for garnish at the end
- play with the amount of simple syrup to adjust sweetness to your preference, personally I like it tangier
- Can substitute triple sec for Cointreau
- Cocktail name comes from Canadian rye whisky (like the Canadian Club pictured) but as with all drinks better quality liquor tastes better so try mid to high end rye whiskies.
