There are many variations on this drink, the first of which, dating from the mid-1930s, being positively vile. This one purportedly dates from around 1950 and is as delightful as it is deadly.

1 oz 151 Demerara rum
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz lime juice
1 oz passion fruit syrup
1 tsp brown sugar
1 dash Angostura bitters
Preparation:
Dissolve the brown sugar in the lemon and lime juices in a cocktail shaker. Add the other ingredients and ice, shake, and strain into a crushed ice-filled hurricane glass or Tiki mug. Mint sprig garnish.
Yeah, this looks very closely related to the Spievak Zombie from the 50s. Not bad, but not nearly as complex as one of the original Donn Beach versions.
