About this Cocktail

This is not Hemingway's Gimlet recipe, but rather a Hemingway daiquiri with Gin subbed for the Rum. I am on the road a lot for field work, and when possible we do four 9 hour days of field work and then a single 4 hour drive day back to the office on Friday. As such, Thursday is often hotel booze nerd night, experimenting with new ingredients so I can make tasty stuff for the wife and myself on the weekend. This was my first Luxardo Maraschino purchase, and I already had the gin and citrus, so this seemed an obvious way to go. I like it, and I am clearly NOT the first to come up with this idea. The hotel room version uses store bought juice and a protein shaker. Whatcha gonna do‽

  • 2 oz gin
  • .75oz Grapefruit juice
  • .5oz lime juice
  • .25oz Luxardo Maraschino
  • Squirt of Honey

Reminder: this is the hotel room version. Add all ingredients to thoroughly cleaned protein shaker (the blender ball will help incorporate the otherwise pesky honey). Dry shake with all your might. Add ice, shake again. Strain into crappy ice filled plastic tumbler. Drink.
