About this Cocktail

This really just started with the name. I wondered, how can I make a Mai Tai that someone would sip and say, "my, my!" It's really stupid, but the rhyme just gets me. I figured it would need a kick, so I paired the Amber rum with rye instead of white rum and added the Benedictine and bitters for more spice.

  • 3/4 oz Appleton Estate Jamaican rum
  • 3/4 oz Old Overholt Rye
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz orgeat
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz Benedictine
  • 1/4 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 dash Fee Brother's Old Fashioned Bitters

Add all ingredients to shaker, fill with ice and shake vigorously. Double strain into old fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with mint sprig and serve.

    Fabulous! I propose the following mod be called “My, My Coco:“ Use an agricole instead of the Estate Rum, sub coconut nectar for the orgeat, and use Bittermen’s Boston Bittahs.
